17 May 2012, 8th Chapter Meeting@College East

Table Topics

Gogi was the Table Topics Master.  In line with the theme "A Hero is an Ordinary Individual Who Finds Strength To Persevere and Endure in Spite of Overwhelming Obstacles" - Christopher Reeves, he used the acronymn "HEROES" to organise his topics.  He conducted the session in a very fun, exciting and challenging manner where everyone enjoyed.

Prepared Speeches

1) Poh Lian (ITE TMC), AP5, Speaking to Inform Manual - The Abstract Concept (Speech Title: Integrity)
This was her final project to achieve Advanced Communicator Silver (ACS).  Congratulations!!  She has contributed one DCP point to the Club.

2) Benny Kee (Bukit Batok TMC), P6 - Vocal Variety (Speech Title: Financial Independence)

3) Coen Tan (Tampines Changkat TMC), P10 - Inspire Your Audience (Speech Title: The Greatest Gift)

4) Ted Chong (Tampines Changkat TMC), AP3, Storytelling Manual - Moral of The Story (Speech Title: Contest Journey)

Project Evaluation

Kok Jin (NTU Alumni TMC), Gogi (ITE TMC), Lye Sum (ITE TMC) and Coen (Tampines Changkat TMC) fedback on the areas done well and gave suggestions for improvement.

Ah Counter

Ted (Tampines Changkat TMC) gave the Ah Counter's report.

Sofia and James, Guests, gave their take on Toastmasters.

Nicodemus Chan Competed in the 2012 Area B3 International Speech & Table Topics Contests

The Joint Areas B1/B3/B4 International Speech & Table Topics Contests were held on Sat 17 Mar 2012 (2 pm) at Joo Chiat CC Theatrette.

Our Club President, Nicodemus Chan, competed with 5 other contestants for each type of contest. I was the Contest Chair & Kay Chuan was there supporting the event.

Congratulations! He emerged 2nd Runner-Up in Table Topics Contest.

Taking part in contests is part of the Toastmasters training program.

He has enhanced his development thru experience in taking part in contests.

11th Chapter Meeting 25-May-2011 ITE College East Club ITE Clubhouse

We had our first informal chapter meeting at ITE College East Club ITE Clubhouse.

Annual General Meeting is conducted to report on Financial Statements, Members Progress, Distinguished Club Programme as well as elections of Club Officers to serve in the Executive Committee of term 2011/2012.

Club Term Awards:
Most number of roles: 1st: Lye Sum, 2nd: Siva, 3rd: Aloysius.
Most number of Different Roles: 1st: Siva, 2nd (tie): Lye Sum & Kay Chuan,  3rd: Poh Lian,

10th Chapter Meeting on 20 April 2011 @ ITE College Central (Tampines Campus)

Meeting Theme: "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose"                  

President, presenting his opening address and advanced prepared speech, sharing his experience in his recent escapade to Europe.

Emil, plays the role of Language Evaluator, giving the word of the day "image".
Table Topics Master, Mansor, efficiently conducted his first impromptu speech segment. Five speakers gallantly took up the challenge of speaking impromptu. They went up to the lectern to face the audience with these topics and spoke for 1-2 mins.

In the prepared speech segment, a P6 was presented by Toastmaster Mansor and evaluated by Yong Hoe.
P10 was presented by Nicodemus and evaluated by Wilson Ong. AP 5 was presented by Eng Kai (evaluated by Shaun Li).







Ribbons & awards were presented by President Suen Eng Kai for the best speakers of the night.
Nicodemus, successfully completed his 10th project from the Communication manual. He was awarded the "Competent Communicator" or CC title.

9th Chapter Meeting on 16 Mar 2011 at ITE College East

The 9th Chapter meeting was held on Wednesday, 16 Mar 2011 at ITE College East.



Toastmaster of the Evening, Poh Lian expertly guided the meeting through the night.
