Four ITE Toastmasters Club Officers attended the Division B Club Officers (COT) Training held on 30 Jun 2007 at Leng Kee Community Club. They were:
1 Yeo Poh Lian, CL Incoming Treasurer
2 Ong Lye Sum, CL Incoming VPE1
3 Andrew Goh, CC Incoming VPM
4 Sivanathan Incoming VPE2
The programme included various District Officers speeches, three educational cum motivational presentations, one hour break out sessions and an award ceremony.

The first educational segment was presented by incoming Lieutenant Governor (Education & Training) Goh Wei Koon, DTM on the topic "District Education - Club Success Plan". He dwelt in details the strategy using an acronym "SPEAK" representing
Speak more;
Practice more;
Evaluate more;
Advance yourself; and
Kill bad habits.
Wei Koon further guided the audience through the understanding of DCP goals and explained with samples the Club Success Plan.
The other presentation on "Towards Quality Meetings and Clubs" was deliverd by Richard Sng, DTM, the incoming ASST. DIV. GOV. EDUCATION & TRAINING I. Richard was thorough in his presentation by providing key learning points from his many years of experiences, touching on 12 key areas, namely: What is Quality?; The Criteria & Factors; The Meeting Programme; Invitations; Courtesy Calls; Reception; The Opening Address; Guests & Visitors; The Break; Acknowledgements; Feedback & Send-Offs; and The TEN Platinum Rules to a Successful Club.

This was followed by a "Breakup Session", where each of the roles of EXCO were shared by a facilitator with follow up discussions and Q & A.
After the completion of the breakup session, Toastmaster Manivannan, DTM (above image) shared with the audience a presentation "Toastmasters: The Timeless Experience" in which he encourage members of executive committee to practice leadership skills such as understanding the social & personal growth needs of members and fellow exco; importance of having passion & fun in a meeting; becoming excited in a meeting; not to impose views on others; and creating a timeless experience by doing more than just a chapter meeting such as creating different theme and giving recognition in a meeting; developing fellowship and rewarding for good efforts.
Finally, the outgoing Division Governor, Tan May Yan, ATM-B gave away the Achievers Award to Toastmasters who completed their CCs, ACB, ACS, ACG, CL, CLB and CLS in a Ceremony.
The incoming Division B Governor, William Lim, DTM closes the COT with a motivating and inspiring message and promises his commitment to the division. The audience was informed that the division B official website, http://www.divisionb.org/ was resurrected.
We've learned and gained much through this training and hope to practice what was learned to bring ITE Toastmasters Club to the next level of excellence.
