Ong Lye Sum was the Toastmaster of the Day.
In his opening address, Club President Siva shared a story of a boy who lost his left arm in an accident and decided to learn Judo. His Sensei only taught him one move, and this one move allowed him to be a champion. This move is one of the most difficult moves in Judo, and the only known defense is the grab the left arm. The moral of the story is:We similarly encounter similar situations in TMs, good to know champion speakers but difficult to learn to be a champion speaker.
Siva presented Advanced Leader Bronze Project, Successful Club Series-Mentoring. He gave us an insight of the important roles of a Mentor in the Members' Toastmaster Journey.
Andrew Whitney is the Language Evaluator, he introduces the word of the day, Copious - meaning abundance, plenty, many.
