Theme: The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it   -   Henry David Thoreau

President's Welcome Speech (Key Points)

President Poh Lian touched on the theme "The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it", expounding on the two key areas that life currency could buy. They were Character and Involvement. She further explored the learning experience in her role as President of ITE TMC.

Table Topics Segment
Table Topics Master effectively conducted this segment with six participants. Each participants selected an object as a prompt for his/her speech.

Strenghtener - Kay Chuan;

Lighter - Terence Toh;

Calculator - Seng CC;

Panadol - Siva;

Scotch Tape - Lye Sum;
 
Thermometer - Boon Liang.

Prepared Speeches
There were two prepared speech speakers for the night.

Speaker 1 - P1, The Ice Breaker
Toastmaster Seng's speech title "Family" dwelled on three key persons, namely his daughter, his wife and his personal experiences and learning values. Audience got to know him better.

Speaker 2 - P2, Organize Your Speech
Toastmaster James Low's speech title "Being Yourself" allowed him to reflect on being introverted versus being extroverted. He explained the qualities and differences before touching on the importance of being true to yourself be it introverted or extroverted.

Speech Evaluations
Evaluating Speaker 1, Boon Liang effectively highlighted the strength and areas of improvement for Seng.

Evaluating Speaker 2, R Sivanathan complimented speaker James for making the speech relevant to the audience through the use of questioning, where almost all said "Yes" to being an introvert. Amongst other areas of improvements, he mentioned the importance keeping to time.
