Congratulations to Sivanathan, our sole representative, who came in 2nd runner up (International Speech) in the recently concluded Area B4 International Speech and Table Topics Contest held on Sat 29/3/08 at Joo Chiat C C. For the record, this is a break through for ITE Toastmasters Club as we were not placed among the top three for Area International Speech contest before. The details:Area B4 International Speech Contest 2008 - We came in 3rd (Out of 5 participants). The top 2 were from SIM, spoke very well & high on content.

The title was "Reach for the Stars". The top 2 were from SIM too, different representatives from International Speech contest.
Here's a few words from our achiever Siva.
"I am very happy to walk away with a trophy for my very first time participating in TM contest. Stressed about a week trying to edit a past basic project speech to meet contest guidelines. Thanks to Lye Sum for spending his precious time giving me tips. Rehearsed my speech like never before so that I will not embarrass my Club. It was a good learning experience. Didn't realise venue was like a Theatrette...so many people...& steep too...have to stretch the neck. Some thanked me for giving the speech as they thought it was entertaining....sure or not?.... me entertaining? Overall, I think other Club members should aspire to participate in TM contests."
