President's Address
In the last chapter meeting, I touch on the athlete, El-G, who went through real grit to win the 2004 Olympics Gold medal after three tries. The Beijing 2008 Olympic Game is over and we’ve seen how Singapore won the Silver Medal in the women’s Table Tennis Team event. We saw the three lady paddlers, Feng TianWei, Li JiaWei and Wang YueGu, won over the South Koreans through five hard fought games. The Singapore team won over the South Koreans because of the slight difference in skills, in confidence and in their determination to outwit their.
The table tennis glorious win was an example of tonight’s theme “In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king”. Having an edge with the added information would put you in good stead when the time calls for it. Consider this additional information or skills that you possessed as a result of your training and effort. Consider how it would help you in the longer term journey that we’ve got to travel. Consider the reasons why you’re here tonight at the 2nd ITE Toastmasters chapter meeting and how these two hours could help you gain the extra mileage in your communication skills. May I wish all present to have a fruitful evening, learning from each other.
