22 July 2009, Exco Installation cum 1st Chapter Meeting @ Dover

In line with the meeting theme (A goal is a dream with a finish line), SAA (Lye Sum) starts off the meeting by asking members to introduce themselves and share a goal which they set to achieve or already achieved.

Outgoing President (Lye Sum) address:

Speech Title: "3 thank you's"

1-> Exco Team 2008/09. For achieving Distinguished Club award (1st time in 3 yrs).
2-> Incoming president and new team. For planning another 5 goals on top of maintaining current 5 goals, in hope to achieve President's Distinguished Club, but the realistic target of Select Distinguished Club will be good enough.
3-> Supporters; All members, visitors and guests who supported in chapter meetings, especially club patron Kay Chuan and mentor Patrick.

The following toastmasters were given awards.
Most No. of Speech Projects-> Beng Kee
Most No. of Meeting Roles->Siva
Most No. of Different Meeting Roles-> Poh Lian

Installation of ITE Toastmasters Club Exco (2009/10)

Katherine Choo (Area Governor for B4) installed the new Exco for term 2009/10.







President (Siva) Inaugural Address:

President thanked the previous Exco for their work done. The club has achieved Distinguished Club (5 pts) last term, with Jet Ding being the precious 20th member.

















President encouraged everyone to make their dreams come true by setting goals. Have a dream, set a deadline to achieve it. By setting a deadline and target, you will push yourself to achieve it. Siva shared about his success is due to the goals being set for him as part of the DCP programme.
Being humble and realistic, the goal for this year's DCP will be Select Distinguished Club (7 pts).

Aloysius: Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible to visible. Share how you go about setting goals to turn invisible to visible.

Andrew: Goals are not only absolutely necessary to motivate us, they are essential to really keep us alive. What is one goal you have that have kept you motivated to achieve?

Jet: In life, as in football, you won't go far unless you know where the goalposts are. How do you think the game of football is like a team goal setting?

Victor: Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals." Share a meaningful goal you have benefitted others.

Kay Chuan: Life can be pulled by goals just as surely as it can be pushed by drives. Do you think we should set our goals or we should be driven by someone to achieve certain objectives in life?

Prepared Speeches:

Ho Peng presented his project 2 from Basic Manual and talked about Leonardo Da Vinci.









Poh Lian presented project 1 from Special Occasions Manual and proposed a toast to Siva.
