6th Chapter Meeting on 9 Dec 2009 @ ITE College West (Dover Campus)

The theme of this meeting is "If You Want the Rainbow, You have to Put Up With the Rain."
Poh Lian was the Toastmaster of the Evening.
Opening Address
President requested members to come forward to take part in the upcoming International Speech & Table Topics Contests. Since there are less than 5 clubs in our Area, each club is allowed to send 2 contestants for each contest. He cited his own experience in taking part in contests 2 terms ago where a lot of time & effort were spent in drafting & rehearing the speech. He got 2nd runner up in International Speech contest where the trophy was considered his rainbow, having put up with the rain. Taking part in contests is one of the training platforms in Toastmasters to improve on communication skills. He encouraged members to take the challenge to represent the Club in the Combined Area contests to be held on Sat 27 Feb 2010.
